1) Lucky loathes Ella. She leaped up and positively shredded that perfectly nice jazz appreciation month poster that came in this month's American Libraries. Billie's the better singer, of course, but still, kitten: I'm trying to class up the joint!

*sigh, avec g*

2) Jack and Meg White have more fun than just about anybody I know, or don't know, for that matter.

3) Tapas = love. It's also really cool to meet people who like food, and know more about it, than you do.

4) McSweeney's remains amusing. Note that I did not say accurate. Still, however, amusing.

5) Could there be a few more ordering tools to read for next week? Don't answer that!

6) What would you have for your last meal? A touch morbid, and yet, utterly fascinating. JMHO, YMMV.

7) Reclaiming the word "bitch". Hm. If I may be a snoot, for a moment, and all politics aside...it just sounds ugly. Why would you want to call yourself something that sounds ugly? Of course, we sometimes FEEL ugly, so if the black boot fits...and yet, still. V. perplexing.

8) I now have two lines of that villanelle. The second one came to me yesterday morning on my walk, and now they're criss-crossing in and out of my head, caroling, like bells.

9) Reading: In Buddha's Kitchen, Kimberley Snow. So far the best part is when she talks about the play she wrote, about the chef and the invisible dragon who lives in her kitchen. The dragon can't go back to his own realm until he finds his mate. She is, of course, the chef, under an enchantment, but neither of them know that. So they make soup and stuff until they figure it out. Too cute.

10) [info]msminki, you are far too kind and clever by half. Proper thank-you forthcoming.

*smiles*

Must dash. See yinz tamarra.

That is quixotically all.

Re: Ella poster
Aw, thanks! I'm going to have to frame stuff, now, if I want to keep it safe from fuzzy monsters. Sheesh. :)

re: In Buddha's Kitchen
I vaguely remember reading that some time ago, and really liking it. I'll have to check my librarything. Glad you refreshed my memory!

Re: In Buddha's Kitchen
Quite welcome, dear! I think K. needs to read it, too, so it's destined for her desk as soon as I'm done with it...

This is very embarrassing but I don't remember what I did or said. :/

I'm going to have to disagree with you. I respect Billie's contributions to jazz very, very much, but I prefer to listen to Ella. Her voice is summer and calm and peace. There are very few bad days a good dose of Ella can't cure, in my humble opinion ... which you did not request. Sorry.

Dear, it would be a really boring world if we all felt the same! I appreciate everything you're saying, and certainly can't argue with it. I just like Billie's bluesy, slow, sad, life is so darned heavy, ethos. All the benefits of heroin without any of the dangers! ;)
