Researched treatment format yesterday; it's pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Created log line and season one of what will be a four-year story arc. Some people can go on for yearsandyears and remain high-quality; I'm pretty sure I've got four years of this particular story in me, and that's that.

Also noodled around with this month's Poets and Writers. It's time to get back in the game.

Flirted with, but ended up passing on, this gorgeous red velvet floor-length wrap skirt (am seeing a trend here) - it was utterly adorable, but a shade too small. The whole point of a floor-length skirt is to look ladylike and yet still be able to move like a gazelle when library science calls for it, so I reluctantly bid it adieu. Ditto the black lacy confection that was just a shade not right. Still nothing coatwise. Am hoping that, as winter crawls to a close, more Metropoleans will clean out their winter closets, and I'll meet my match.

*fingercross*

New recipe adventure = Spanish rice. Chop an onion, chop a pepper, chop as much garlic as you desire. Saute briefly in a little olive oil. Add 1.5 cups of rice and as much cayenne pepper as you fancy. Drain a can of diced tomatoes and add the tomato juice plus enough water for three cups to the rice/veggie mixture. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer, covered, 30 min. Add tomatoes, re-cover, simmer 20 more min. Devour.

And here we are. My art show submissions have been measured and photographed, and I just have to print out the pictures. Am ready for another week in the fray, feeling pretty good about it, too. There is, apparently, a hummingbird phase (yes, they call it that, how fey!), folks in my circumstances go through, where they flit around trying this and that. It's considered a crucial part of building one's identity up again. And, I must admit, I do ask myself that a lot. Who am I, really? What do I like? What do I want? What would please me? It does seem a touch self-centered, but given that I spend my day surrounded by people who need and want things from me, I suppose it balances out.

*considers*

Other things I would like to make happen this week:

Wash all the darned dishes.
Scrub the bathtub (ugh).
Pack up more stuff in the living room for Goodwill.
Figure out what the heck to do with my wedding dress.

That last is a sticky wicket. It seems unethical to re-sell it to some unsuspecting bride or prom-goer, tainted as it is with failure. What I'd really like to do is cut off the skirt and refashion /re-dye it into something I would actually wear again. Then again, it's not like I'm a regular on the fancy-dress circuit, so, qui sait?

*sighs*

Well, I don't have to fix everything today. Tomorrow, either.

Walk, work, social, go.

That is clear-headedly all.

Tie dye it, maybe?

Eh, dunno. Tie-dye with amethysts? Hmmm...

Maybe this is why I never became a clothing designer.....

Re the dress: There are charities that take dresses and donate them to less fortunate brides. Perhaps look into one of those?

Here's a place:
Brides Against Breast Cancer

That's where I got my dress and then re-donated it to get the tax deduction.

Hm. I wonder if the inherent goodness and high motive in this act would expunge the doom from the dress? Must consider this.

It's really not the dress's fault. It was gorgeous. It served a wonderful, educational purpose. And now I just have to get rid of it.

Meh.

Indeed, and it's a good idea. I don't know how fair it is to start somebody's marriage off with a Dress of Evil Omen. Maybe I'm overreacting.

Let me know if you like it! It was just on the back of the bag of rice, so I figured, what the heck...

I was watching Neat on the Fitness Channel and there was a woman with her old wedding dress from her first marriage. Helen the host said it was bad energy and just get rid of it any way possible.

I totally agree with you on the energy. I'm just trying to sort out the ethics of passing that energy on! I could set it on fire, I suppose...or use it in a piece of performance art...no, that's just Crazy talking!
